First name meaning: From the Late Latin name Claritia, which was derived from Latin clarus "clear, bright, famous". (Definition from www.behindthename.com.)
Last name meaning: Derived from the Gaelic word "ionmhain", which means "beloved." (From www.irishsurnames.com.)
Other names: My middle name, pronounced "SHEE-fra", possibly means "elf" in Irish Gaelic, which is what my parents were thinking when they named me. (See "Distinguishing Features.")

Father:  Biological - Richard "Rick" Nunan, Ravenclaw almunus. Pureblooded. Authorizes Portkeys in the Portkey Office of the Ministry. Stepfather - Brennan Doherty, Muggle. Naval engineer.
Courtship of Patti and Rick: The two first knew of each other when Mom's younger sister Peggy dated his younger brother Robbie. However, they never actually met until a mutual friend's wedding some years later, where a little girl named Megan was sitting on the hood of a car playing with Mom, when she slipped and was caught by Dad. The two started talking and hit it off due to a similar taste in music and sense of humor. They were married a year later when Mom was four months pregnant with me, and soon after I was born, little Megan died when she was hit by a car. They named my younger sister in honor of the girl who brought them together.
The Divorce: Dad never told Mom that he was a wizard, because he knew she was set in her ways. However, that wasn't his only secret. He had a male lover, whom he kept under a lust potion. One day when I was three years old, my pregnant Mom found a bottle of the lust potion and questioned Dad about it. He confessed everything, and Mom demanded that she meet this man, and that he stop using the potion, or she would leave him and he would never see me again. He complied, and when Mom met his lover, Brennan Doherty, she immediately felt pity for the man, and became close friends with him. Now that everything was in the open, Dad started to teach me about magic, occasionally bringing me to work at the Ministry with him. A few months later, after Megan was born, Mom filed for divorce, and married Brennan once it was final. Then, she moved back to her native U.S. with Brennan and Megan, leaving me in the care of my father.
Now: The summer before this year, Megan got her Hogwarts letter. Mom got pissed and sent her to live with us "freaks." I had just come out to my father, but I was forced back into the closet so my mother wouldn't find out through Megan. The little brat came to Hogwarts and got sorted into Slytherin. Now, she's on my nerves all the time.

Childhood: Very ho-hum and nondescript. As much as it could have been, anyway. Mom was rather inattentive, which caused me to develop a grudge against her. My father, though he was often stuck at the Ministry for long hours, was my role model and preferred parent. I was often babysat by my paternal cousins, who were almost like my older siblings.
Location of childhood home: A small flat in the suburbs of London. though we would often make trips to the U.S. to visit Mom's family.
Pet: An owl named Hootie (thanks to Megan) for mail and a rather, er, special cat named Max. He's a big grey fluffball who has a tendency to walk into walls and lacks the ability to retract his claws. A family joke says that if Max were human, he'd wear cowboy boots, a football helmet, and ride the short bus. Despite the teasing, I love my Maxy pad very much.

APPEARANCE
Eye color: Dark greyish blue.
Hair color: Medium brown.
Distinguishing features: Painfully short, so much so I'm often mistaken for a second year. Rather pointed ears, hence my middle name. I also have glasses, though sometimes I don't wear them and use a charm. Depends on my mood.

ME at HOGWARTS
House: Slytherin. Currently in my fourth year.
Quidditch: Cheerleader and conspiracy theorist.
Organizations & affiliations: Charms Club and Drama Club. Keeps tabs on S.P.E.W. for the laughs.
Friends: Daphne Greengrass has been my best friend since I first came to Hogwarts; she kinda showed me around the dungeons and took me under her wing. Luna Lovegood has been my study partner since I decided to sit next to her in the library and read off her notes. Hey, she looked smart, she was wearing Ravenclaw colors.
Awards, etc.: One of the top girls in my year, or would be if I wasn't so easily distracted from certain subjects.

SKILLS, INTERESTS, ETC.
Wand: 9", vine wood, hair from the tail of a Thestral (which makes it very effective in camoflauging/concealment charms and those involving movement).
Interests: Music, writing, musicals, Charms, politics, Quidditch, Potions (as bad as I am at them, I still like the class), drama (both theatrical and social), girls, conspiracies, and my cat Max.
Skills: Writing, procrastination, Charms, insulting people, weaseling my way out of stuff, and sucking up when necessary.
Patronus: Giraffe. I have yet to figure out why.
Boggart: All the people I'm close to renouncing me. Refused to speak for three days afterward.
Punishment: I've lost count of how many points I've lost for Slytherin due to late/missing assignments, but I usually make up for it later by bailing my friends out of deep shit. I also have a tendency to say the right thing at the right time to the wrong effect.

DETAILED PROFILE OF ME

I am a fourth-year Slytherin at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. The daughter of an Irishman and a New Yorker, I have quite a colorful tongue. My personal favorite phrases are "Troll-faced nogtail fucker" and "Fuck you in the ear diagonally, whore." Profanity aside, I love the written word (even the propaganda), and aspire to be an author. I'm often found in the common room jotting lines and character sketches onto spare pieces of parchment.

Due to my mother's attachment to her homeland, I often went to New York City as a child, and was exposed to many musicals and plays. I have since become a self-proclaimed addict and aficianado.

Once I have developed an interest in something (or someone) I'll dig my claws right in and find out as much as I can for later use. I excel in the classes that interest me, and squeak by in those that don't.

I refuse to take sides in the Voldemort issue. I dislike those who are extreme in either sense, and am generally apathetic about the whole mess.
